Justice for Artemis: Help Cover Vet Costs
Don protégé
On Fri. 5/2/25, around 6:45 pm, while several families were out playing on Sanderson Way (parallel to Savannah at Harris and Sanderson), our family dog got out when the garage door was obstructed and didn’t close. She knew how to open doors, our neighbors knew her, and knew that all I needed to say was “go home” and she would. Unfortunately, as she rounded the bike lane from Harris to Savannah, heading toward Alder Creek Elementary, a silver sedan hit and killed her. They did not stop or slow down despite multiple families and children witnessing the scene and being within 10 feet of the vehicle. Artemis was in the bike lane and this reckless driver killed a beloved family member. We were on the street with at least 10 other people who were trying to help or direct us to a vet, but it was too late. We incurred emergency veterinary costs to try and save her, and after she passed, the cremation and keepsake costs for each family member to remember her by. Any help to recover these costs would be incredibly appreciated as it wiped most of our monthly income out completely. If you cannot contribute financially, all we ask is that you report this unsafe location to the police in Folsom, CA. The intersection is Savannah Pkwy and Harris Dr. Thank you for everything to all our neighbors who directed us where to go and those who provided the Ring footage they could secure. We have an open case and plan to pursue this to the end so that it never happens to anyone else’s loved one or pet.
