Justice for Anthony: Support His Recovery
Donation protected
On the night of Friday, June 20th, Anthony became the victim of a brutal act of police violence in Providence, Rhode Island.
Anthony was preparing for a weekend of Pride celebrations when he was stopped by two officers in an empty parking garage. He had just arrived to retrieve his backpack and check into his hotel for the evening. After cooperating fully during the initial encounter, things took a violent turn: Anthony was punched in the face without provocation and thrown to the ground. Fearing for his life, he tried to escape and seek help — but was instead chased down and assaulted repeatedly. Shockingly, a civilian joined in the attack rather than stepping in to stop it.
Anthony was taken to the hospital, where he suffered multiple seizures, broken blood vessels in both eyes, and facial nerve damage. Thirty-six hours later, his injuries left him nearly unrecognizable.
To make matters worse, the Providence Police Department had refused to return his ID — and now claimed it was “lost.” Without it, Anthony could not check into a hotel to rest and recover, nor could
he legally drive home. Your support can help change the outcome of this injustice. All donations will go directly toward Anthony’s mounting medical expenses and the legal battle ahead as he fights to hold those responsible accountable.
