Justice for Angela Trujillo

Donation protected

On Wednesday, April 22nd Angela Trujillo was struck by a vehicle while walking to her parents house in Clayton, New Mexico. She was transported by ambulance to Union County General Hospital and then immediately flown to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. She had several internal injuries including a ruptured spleen injury, a torn aorta, damage to her T12 vertebrae, broken spinus process (damage to the spinal cord), two broken ribs, a broken ankle, broken fibula and lots of cuts and abrasions.

Once at the hospital she was placed on a ventilator. The trauma doctor removed her spleen early Thursday morning. This surgery was successful. She had another surgery on Friday evening to close up her abdomen from the spleen surgery. The surgery went well and she was transferred to the ICU to recover. Later that evening she was transferred to a UMC Hospital in Lubbock, Texas by air to be evaluated by specialists to fix the tear in the aorta. New doctors, new tests, new injuries found. Specifically swelling on the brain due to a stroke caused by impact of vehicle at time of accident.

Over the next several hours it became clear that she was not a candidate for the aorta surgery based on her devastating condition and being that she was paralyzed on one side of her body. On Monday the 27th, the family had to make the difficult decision to remove her from all life supporting devices and she passed peacefully on the evening of April 28th, 2020.

The family has been left heartbroken and at a loss as to why this tragic accident happened. They will need help financially for the costs of a funeral service and burial arrangements.

Angela’s Daughter LouAnn Conrad will also be hiring an attorney to seek justice for her Mother. Lou Ann has since obtained a copy of the police report. The driver of the vehicle was just passing through when she struck Angela. The driver was also permitted by officers to drive away from the accident even though the registration was expired. The officer did not conduct a sobriety test of any type on the driver. The case was not handled properly and LouAnn is determined to find justice for her mother.

Please find it in your heart to help them with the financial burden as they mourn the life of their beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, and Grandmother Angela.
