My fiancée and I are raising funds to help us get through a really difficult time after she was denied her final paycheck from her previous employer.
She worked hard, and fulfilled her responsibilities — but when her employment ended, the company refused to release her last wages.
Their reasoning had nothing to do with her work or performance, and after seeking advice, we learned that what they did is not legal. We’ve since filed a complaint with the state labor department, but the process is slow and can take weeks or even months to resolve. In the meantime, we’re doing our best to stay afloat. Losing that paycheck has created a serious financial strain — we’re now behind on essential bills and have had to start selling personal items just to cover rent and utilities while we wait for the claim to move forward. This fundraiser will help us:
