Assault Survivor Fighting Unfair University Suspension

Donation protected
My name is Alannah Wade, and I was a senior at Lincoln University of Missouri, class of 2025. What should have been a time of celebration of my accomplishments as I neared the completion of my degree has instead become a nightmare. On January 23, 2025, I was assaulted by my roommate’s boyfriend on campus. While I wish I had navigated the situation differently, nothing warrants the assault I endured or the punishment I received. I reported the assault to campus police, and despite being the victim and suffering injuries from the altercation, I was suspended from the university just months before my graduation, accused of physical assault—for a situation I did not cause.

I have gathered witness statements and letters from individuals in my academic community who believe that my suspension is unjust and who stand behind me in this fight. Even people who don’t know me—strangers who have heard about my situation—have expressed their support, recognizing the unfairness of my treatment by the university. This underscores my integrity and shows that my case was mishandled.

Before my suspension, I had been preparing for law school this fall and had already received an acceptance to my dream law school. I have worked hard to build a strong future for myself, but now, because of this unjust decision, my future is at risk, and I am left fighting for justice instead of focusing on my education and career goals.

The university has already taken away my graduation, and I am now left to fight for fairness and accountability. I was simply trying to protect myself, but instead, I am the one facing punishment. The emotional and psychological toll of this situation has been overwhelming. What was supposed to be an exciting final semester has turned into an exhausting battle to clear my name and regain control of my future. My goal is to seek legal action to challenge the university’s decision and address the harm caused to my future and well-being.

I am raising funds to cover legal expenses as I pursue justice. While my suspension cannot be reversed, I am exploring options to challenge the university’s handling of the situation and seek appropriate compensation for the emotional and psychological damage caused by this experience. The funds will go directly toward securing legal representation to help me fight for my rights and work toward accountability.

In addition to legal costs, I also need help covering counseling and therapy expenses to address the emotional toll this situation has taken on me. The suspension, the assault, and the university’s failure to support me have left me struggling emotionally, and I need resources to heal and rebuild my life.

This injustice has already taken away my graduation and jeopardized my future. With your support, I can afford the legal help I need to take action against the university and fight for what is right. Your donation will help me fight for justice not just for myself, but for others facing similar injustices. Your support will also help me continue my journey to becoming an advocate for others who are victims of assault. I want to ensure that people in similar situations have a voice and that they are not punished or silenced by institutions that fail to protect them. Your donation will help me hold the university accountable and provide me with the resources to heal emotionally and move forward.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any donation, no matter how small, and even just sharing this campaign with others, will make a tremendous difference. With your help, I can take action, seek justice, and rebuild my future. Together, we can work toward creating a safer and more supportive environment for victims of assault.
