Alainah Dailey - “The Little Protestor”

Donation protected
Alainah Dailey has been a dedicated and determined supporter and advocate for police reform and government changes in her city of Decatur, Alabama since the shocking police murder of Steven Perkins on September 29, 2023.

Alainah has spent her time, effort and energy in learning laws and ordinances, reading over policies and procedures and educating herself and others about changes that should be made so that no other family has to experience what the Perkins’ family has been left to deal with these many months.

She is an advocate for justice and has been to nearly all of the city council meetings since that horrific event, speaking on behalf of her community against police misconduct and corruption in the local government. She has been a prominent part of the peaceful protests in search of #JusticeForStevePerkins.

Alainah has done all of this while juggling being a full-time college student, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, and a mother of two young children who have never been away from her.

Like many other peaceful protestors and livestreamers before her, Alainah has been targeted by the Decatur Police Department- the same department who murdered Steve Perkins and tried to cover it up. So far, over 100 protesters in Decatur have been targeted and arrested in the City of Decatur for standing up to this blatant corruption.

Alainah was arrested on Friday, February 9, 2024 by the brother of one of the officers who was fired from the Decatur Police Department over his involvement with the murder of Steve Perkins.
The charge was disorderly conduct.
Alainah was livestreaming to Facebook the entire night, up until they arrested her.

She was held without bond for 35 days. During that time, her family had to reorganize their lives in order to provide care for her two toddlers, missing countless hours of work at their jobs and using up their vacation time -because of the direct violation of Alainah’s rights to due process once arrested.

Alainah was also dropped from the semester at her college because she was withheld from completing her schoolwork while she was being detained in jail. She had less than one year left before graduating with her bachelor’s degree in engineering. Her scholarship for the semester was forfeited, which now requires her to pay back every penny of the covered semester.

Alainah is a fighter for justice with a strong spirit and wants the corruption to end in her city. The jail staff made fun of her every day that she was forced to remain in there, calling her “The Little Protestor Who Thought She Could.”

She was targeted and harassed by Decatur PD and all of their fake social media accounts, which she was on the verge of exposing. They continue to do anything they can to silence her.

It will be a long legal battle -one which she intends to win.

Please help support her in this fight!

Any donation is greatly appreciated, but if you are unable to donate, please share so her story may help expose the corruption in the City of Decatur, Alabama.
