Our beloved Akil’s life has been forever changed by violence and injustice. Once full of laughter, ambition, and dreams for his future, Akil now faces unimaginable challenges after surviving an attempted murder that left him paralyzed. He is just a young man who deserved protection, safety, and support—but instead, he has endured abuse, trauma, and now the fight of his life.

Akil’s courage is unmatched. Despite his pain, he continues to push forward with resilience. But he cannot win this battle alone. The road ahead requires extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and—most urgently—a strong legal defense team to fight for the justice he rightfully deserves.

We are raising funds to ensure Akil has the best legal representation possible. These resources will cover attorney fees, court costs, and the advocacy needed to hold those responsible accountable. Without this support, his voice risks being silenced in a system that too often overlooks young Black men like him.
