Hello! I'm reaching out for help for a new American family to fund representation against a claim for $2,400 in alleged damages. Tim and I have partnered with this family since they arrived in St.Louis as aslyees seeking protection from the Taliban in 2021. The father served with the US military in Afghanistan. They have become our good friends, earned their citizenships, and have held jobs and learned English in the last 4 years!

We are now seeking help because their former Landlord, Mistret Vokshi, is suing them for alleged damages to the apartment the family lived in from 2021-2024. This man has a reputation of abuse of immigrant families, suing in small claims court for $$ his former renters do not have based on bogus claims. In our case, he has already taken the family to court and his claim was dismissed. So now he has hired a lawyer to try and sue in small claims court again. In my opinion, he has been a negligent landlord. We have records of the apartment having lead poisoning in the paint which the 2 young girls in the family were treated for. We have records of bugs infestation. And we have video and photo evidence of 0 damage done to the apartment he is claiming. You can look this man up on Missouri case.net and see he has 10+ claims against former renters. In my opinion, he is a predatory landlord. He has even forged my friends signature on a made up lease for this upcoming court date.

We are seeking $500 from the community to cover the costs of a lawyer that has significantly reduced her charges to represent our friends. English is their second language and I would hate for him to lose this case and pay this man anything.
