For the past 25 years, my dad has been a beloved teacher and coach who has impacted thousands of students and families at Drake Middle School and Golden High School. His dedication to education and passion for helping others have made him a pillar of our community. Throughout his career, he has gone above and beyond for his students — whether in the classroom, on the field, or through mentorship and encouragement during difficult seasons in their lives.

My dad has always poured his heart into teaching. He has received the “Most Influential Teacher” award through the LDS Church seven times during his career, and his reputation as an inspiring, compassionate, and committed educator has always been a tremendous source of pride for our family.

Recently, after 25 years of service at Drake Middle School, my dad experienced a deeply painful and public situation that has shaken our family and damaged his reputation. Following a disagreement with a new assistant principal, regarding evaluation inconsistencies, he returned to his classroom to teach for two hours. The police entered Drake Middle School, and in front of students and staff he was escorted out of the building and placed on administrative leave without further explanation.

This action went completely against normal protocol and publicly humiliated a teacher who has dedicated his life to serving students and the community. Shortly afterward, an email was sent to parents with no meaningful information, leaving rumors, assumptions, and damage to his reputation hanging over him for days.

As a family, we believe my Dad deserves fairness, dignity, and due process. We are now seeking legal representation to pursue justice and restore his standing in the community.

• Document preparation and case-related expenses

• Any additional costs associated with pursuing this case including household expenses due to job loss.
