Justice for Alfredo Moosa

In March 2019 my brother, Alfredo was falsely accused of being involved in a criminal case, which resulted in him being incarcerated for 5 days. During those 5 days, it was up to me to not only figure out a way to get him out, but to find him the help he would need to receive a fair and appropriate trial. Fighting the case from the outside rather than from the inside is a much better option. I was able to get a lawyer who reduced his bail to $300,000 and found a bondsman that was able to bond him for $14,000. I exhausted my resources, emptied my savings, and with the help of family and close friends, we were able to pay for the $14,000 bond, as well as the initial deposit for a lawyer.


Needless to say, this has quickly become a burden that is difficult for me to carry on my own. Our mother is completely heartbroken, and it hurts every time she sheds a single tear. At this point, I feel that I need to continue to do anything and everything I can, to see this through so that Alfredo doesn't have to serve time in jail for something he didn't do.  Any help we can receive from others would be incredibly appreciated.


The funds raised here will go towards the lawyer fees so he can continue with his services. We have paid $10,000 for preliminary services, and unless we are able to pay the remaining fees, Alfredo's fate will fall into the hands of a public defender who may not give him the fair and appropriate trial that he deserves. 


My brother Alfredo is a business owner, a college graduate, and a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. He is currently three semesters away from graduating with his masters degree in Public Health Administration with aspirations of working with at-risk youth in the community. He has a lifetime of opportunities and successes ahead of him. Everything that he is currently going through can truly effect his future and it is my goal to ensure that his innocence is heard.
