Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez was a 32-year-old mother of four and an immigrant from Guatemala who was fatally shot on November 5, 2025, after mistakenly arriving at the wrong address for a house-cleaning job in Whitestown, Indiana. She and her husband were working as a cleaning crew and were on the front porch of the mistaken home when she was shot by the homeowner from inside the residence. Her husband, Mauricio Velasquez, witnessed the shooting and her death. The victim's family and close friends is seeking justice and we are raising money to send her body to her native Guatemala for burial. She left behind four children, the oldest is 17 while the youngest is 11 months old.
