Title: Seeking Justice and Safety After a Violent Attack in Bangkok

My name is Ashley, and I am an American woman, a U.S. veteran, and an author who has been living in Bangkok for the past several months. I came here to focus on my creative work and personal healing. Instead, I experienced a traumatic and life‑threatening assault that has left me fighting not only for my safety, but for basic access to justice.

In the aftermath of the attack, I repeatedly sought help from local authorities and medical institutions. Despite my injuries and my requests for protection, I was denied proper care, redirected, or dismissed. Several individuals — both Thai citizens and people within the Collective community — did step in to help me, and I am deeply grateful for their humanity. But the systems meant to protect me failed at every critical moment.

I am now pursuing an official criminal complaint and working to secure legal representation, medical documentation, and safe housing. These steps are essential for my safety and for holding the perpetrators accountable, but the costs are overwhelming. Legal fees, translation fees, transportation, documentation, and emergency living expenses have already become more than I can manage alone.

I am asking for support so I can:
