Tou Cha Xiong, 35, Travel Registered Nurse
July 30, 1989 - December 24, 2024
AN INNOCENT MAN’S LIFE STRIPPED SHORT BY DRUNK DRIVER.
Tou grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and moved with his family to Sarcoxie, Missouri, in 2004. Tou was the fourth youngest child out of 17 siblings birthed by parents: Mai Lee and Lor Pao Xiong.
Tou was adored and cherished by so many, especially by his family. He was one to bring people together, shedding light and warmth in his presence. He always put others first, making others’ priorities his and taking silent initiative. He never allowed himself to fail, protected those around him, and worked hard for the people he loved. Above all, he was melancholically loving, caring, and compassionate.
Aspired by his parents, whose father passed away from kidney disease/stroke and mother who has been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and High Blood Pressure, he obtained two Bachelor’s degrees in Science Biology (2013) and Science in Health Nursing (2019). His goal was to become educated and knowledgeable to help his parents live a long and healthy life.
As a Traveling Registered Nurse with Onward Healthcare, he was in the COVID-19 unit from 2020-2022. He also worked within several intensive care units (ICUs) as the Rapid Response Nurse throughout the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Missouri. Passionate about caring for others, his dream was to become a Physician, treating and curing others to ensure wellness and well-being.
On December 24th, 2024, Christmas Eve, Tou was attending to a typical afternoon driving home from the laundromat when a drunk driver's car collided with his vehicle head-on. He attempted to call 911 at 2:56 p.m. The call lasted for 4 minutes, but unfortunately, the first responder didn't arrive at the scene on time as Tou took his last breath. Family, friends, coworkers, companions, and everyone who knew him have been deeply impacted by his departure.
As we grieve his disappearance from this world, his family is seeking financial help. His sudden death has left the family devastated. All funds donated will help transfer his body to Minnesota where 3/4 of his family resides, have proper funeral services conducted, and seek an attorney to bring justice to what happened to Tou and to raise awareness so no more innocent lives are taken.
Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated during this hard time.
