On Friday, February 13th, 2026, our beloved Evan Taylor—a Shepherd University student and proud Berkeley County native—was taken from us in a senseless act of violence. Evan was more than just a son; he was a kind, loving, and dear friend to so many in our community. His bright spirit and generous heart touched everyone who knew him, and his loss has left a void that words cannot express.

As we struggle to come to terms with this unimaginable tragedy, our family is faced with the overwhelming task of arranging a proper memorial and funeral for Evan. We are also committed to seeking justice for him, which comes with significant legal expenses. The emotional and financial burden is immense, and we are reaching out to our community for support.
