I am an Australian lawyer with a strong personal and professional commitment to human rights, justice and the rule of law. As an Iranian-Australian, I am particularly passionate about supporting the people of Iran in their pursuit of freedom, dignity and fundamental human rights.

I am deeply concerned about the reported mass killing of protesters and other civilians in Iran during January 2026, particularly on 8 and 9 January, and allegations of crimes against humanity and possible war crimes committed by individuals, officials and authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including its security forces, affiliated militias and proxy groups.

As a lawyer, I believe these allegations must be independently investigated and that those responsible, regardless of their positions or authority, should be held accountable in accordance with the law.

I intend to initiate proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia to seek appropriate legal relief concerning the investigation of these alleged crimes by the relevant Australian authorities, including the Australian Federal Police, and to pursue available legal avenues for their potential referral to the International Criminal Court (ICC), subject to the applicable jurisdictional requirements.

I have already taken preliminary steps, including corresponding with the Australian Federal Police, and am currently working towards initiating the proposed proceedings.

This fundraising campaign is intended to assist with the initial legal costs of pursuing this initiative, including counsel's fees, preparation of legal documents and evidence, and the commencement of court proceedings where legally supportable.

My objective is to pursue accountability through lawful, independent and transparent legal processes, and to contribute to ensuring that allegations of grave international crimes committed against the people of Iran are properly examined.

I believe that justice should not depend upon the nationality of the victims, the identity of the perpetrators or the political power they hold. No one should be above the law.
