Our beautiful Tyriana Ledbetter, just 20 years old, is a loving daughter, sister, and friend with a bright smile and a gentle heart. Tyriana has lived her life with mental disabilities, but her spirit has always shined with kindness, humor, and hope. She has a deep love for people and an innocence that touches everyone who meets her.

What Happened

Tyriana was recently the victim of a brutal assault inside the Fulton County Jail in Georgia — a place that was supposed to keep her safe. She was found unresponsive and bleeding in her cell after being attacked by another inmate. Since then, Tyriana has been hospitalized in critical condition and placed on life support due to severe brain injuries.

The alleged attacker has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and tampering with evidence, but no amount of justice can undo the pain this has caused Tyriana and her family.

Her loved ones are heartbroken, sitting by her bedside every day, praying for her to open her eyes and come back to them.

The Failure of the System

Tyriana’s family trusted the system to protect her. Because of her mental disabilities, she should never have been placed in a dangerous environment like that. Yet the warnings were ignored, and now this young woman’s life has been forever changed.

The conditions at Fulton County Jail have long been under scrutiny — for overcrowding, violence, and neglect — and Tyriana has now become another tragic example of what happens when vulnerable people are left unprotected.
