Justice and Healing for Rae Your Help Needed

This is for our beloved Rae.

Many of you know what happened to her.

If you don't, Sunday morning, June 15th, between 4-6am Rae was sexually assaulted in a van outside of her apartment, she was given an unidentified drug by two men she knows and prior to this event, fully trusted. You probably know them too, just not as well as you thought.

She is currently working with the police, and completed a SANE exam at Samaritan hospital after waking up at 12:45pm, still experiencing the drug’s effects, with limited memory of the assault. This process may take a long time. She deserves our help for a fresh start. Whatever that may mean for her.

This is a very unexpected financial and emotionally stressful burden and personally, we would love for her to be able to stay out of work until she is ready to go back into her role as a mediator, there is the potential that her role as a mediator could potentially be triggering to her so soon after this upsetting event in her life. She is a single mom doing everything on her own.

Any extra funds will go towards:

⁃ Moving expenses. She plans to move into a new home to try and put some distance between herself and the traumatic memories that surely wont fade quickly.

⁃ She will most likely also need some sort of support for the legal process/ fees she may have to spend in order to follow the legal process ahead.

⁃ As of right now her therapy and psychiatrist is $50 per session. She will likely need weekly sessions and may seek out an EMDR/trauma specialist.

Childcare she may need to pay for to attend these sessions as well as have to add a multitude of other weekly events and appointments all centered around trying to seek healing and closure and justice for what these two men did to her, for fun.

Basically, we don't feel it really needs to be justified why we would all want to come together to support her during this time.

Never be a rape apologist. Never ask for more details in order to "believe" the victim. Never question the events that led up to this happening to someone. No one deserves to be taken advantage of and abused this way.

TEACH YOUR SONS ABOUT CONSENT. AND ALSO HOLD YOUR FRIENDS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR UNFORGIVABLE BEHAVIOR AND PUSH THEM TO GET THE HELP THEY NEED BEFORE THEY HURT INNOCENT BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, OH AND ALSO, DON'T TOLERATE IT OR BE AN ACCOMPLICE TO ANY KIND OF ABUSE. DO THE RIGHT THING. RAECHELLE WOULD, SHE WOULD SPEAK UP N SHOW OUT.

She at least deserves the same support in return.
