Hello everyone,
I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for our beloved mother-in-law and aunty, Chela Castellanos- Jacobs, a kind, generous and loving 70-year-old woman. Chela lives alone in Fresno, California and has spent her life caring deeply for her family and friends. Now, she needs our help. Chela recently became the victim of a cruel and calculated case of elder fraud scam, losing her entire life savings—$75,000 to heartless scammers.
She received a phone call from someone claiming to be from her PNC Bank Fraud Investigation Team. With convincing language and alarming urgency, they manipulated her into withdrawing all her money for supposed “safe keeping.” This crime has left her with absolutely nothing—no money for rent, no funds for groceries or medications, and no savings to fall back on. Not only is Chela facing the financial devastation of losing everything she worked for, but she is also living in constant fear and emotional distress, afraid to answer the phone, and unsure of how she will make ends meet. She is someone who has always looked out for others—generous with her time, love, and spirit. Now, she needs the community’s help.
Chela has always been someone who gives without asking for anything in return. Now, we are asking for her. If you are able to donate—no matter the amount small or big—it will go directly to Chela to supporting, her through this painful time. Even sharing this campaign can make a meaningful difference.
We also hope that by sharing her story, we can raise awareness and protect other seniors and families from falling victim to these cruel scams. Elder fraud is more common than we think, and our loved ones deserve to feel safe and supported.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting. Every donation, prayer, and kind word help more than you know.
Sincerely,
Nhi Pham and China Castellanos
