In Loving Memory of Brystol Renae – A Tragic Loss and A Call for Justice
It’s with unimaginable sorrow and heartbreak that I write to you, sharing the tragic news of my sweet niece, Brystol Renae. My sister, Lacey’s, beautiful and innocent daughter, just 3 months old, healthy and full of life will not be coming home from Children's Medical Center in Dallas.
Through fertility treatments, Lacey and Jeremy had their miracle girl in July of 2024. Battling preeclampsia, bed rest, and back surgery after delivery, our family was thrilled to bring a little girl to our tribe.
Brystol's life was swept away in an instant, leaving our family devastated. This has been our worst nightmare. We are now left to navigate a grief so deep, extending far beyond comprehension.
Brystol’s death was 100% preventable. We trusted a licensed daycare professional to care for her in their absence. You cannot put a 3-month-old down for tummy time and walk away, no matter the reason, no matter the time frame. This lapse in judgment and care has taken our girl away from us. This was pure negligence.
Lacey, Jeremy and our family want to take a moment to express our gratitude. From our close circle sharing Brystol’s story to their prayer groups, prayer warriors in Africa, to my sister’s coworkers in Greece, and strangers in the UK, the support has been nothing short of inspirational.. Lacey has read your prayers and well wishes over Brystol, each one providing a hedge of strength and comfort in our time with her.
We are beyond grateful for the Allen paramedics and police officers who’s quick actions provided us more time with Brystol. We are forever indebted to the detectives working tirelessly on her case. #JusticeForBrystol is not just a hashtag; it’s a commitment we will keep in her honor.
Lacey and Jeremy have made the honorable decision to donate Brystol’s organs. This selfless act will solidify her legacy allowing her to live on. Making a profound impact in our world through the lives of others.
As we navigate this painful journey, we turn to our village for help in many ways. Many of you have asked how you can help. In this season, we humbly ask for your support to ease the financial burden that has come with this loss. Your donations will help cover funeral costs, medical expenses, and ongoing support as my sister and our family work through our grief.
Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Your support whether emotional, spiritual, providing meals, or financially means the world to us.
Thank you for helping us honor Brystol’s memory and our pursuit for justice.
With heartfelt gratitude,
