Justice and Funeral Support for Francisco Bazan
In Memory of Francisco Bazan: Justice & Funeral Expenses
Our Family's Tragedy
On April 30, 2025, our world was shattered when my brother, Francisco Bazan, was tragically taken from us while in custody at Bexar County Jail. Francisco, 46, was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose life was cut short in an act of senseless violence that should never have happened within the walls of a county facility meant to ensure safety.
According to authorities, Francisco was found unresponsive in his cell with injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. Despite medical intervention, he was pronounced dead at 3:14 am. What makes this tragedy even more devastating is that his death has since been ruled a homicide, with a detention deputy charged with murder for allegedly facilitating an assault by other inmates.
Who Francisco Was
Husband to Valentina. Son to Francisco Serrano Palma jr.
Francisco was more than just the circumstances of his final days. He was a man with dreams, a smile that could light up a room, and a heart that always had space for others. To our family, he was a protective brother, a loyal friend, and someone who, despite his struggles, always tried to find his way back to the light.
Why We Need Your Support
Our family is now facing the unbearable reality of laying Francisco to rest while simultaneously seeking justice for his death. The financial burden of unexpected funeral expenses has created additional stress during this already devastating time. We were under the impression that Bexar County would cover the services since his death is in their hands. Unfortunately, we have to come up with the funds by May 17th before the state takes over rights over his body. As a family, we want him close by, possibly at San Fernando, to be able to visit often.
Your donations will help us with:
Funeral and burial costs
Memorial service expenses
Supporting our family as we take time to grieve
Justice for Francisco
While a former detention deputy has been arrested and charged with murder, we are committed to ensuring that full accountability is achieved for all parties involved in Francisco's death. No one should lose their life while in custody, especially in such a violent manner.
We are cooperating with authorities and will not rest until justice is served for Francisco. Your support not only helps us with immediate expenses but also shows that our community stands together against such tragic failures of our justice system.
How You Can Help
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference to our family during this difficult time. If you are unable to donate financially, please consider sharing our story to raise awareness about Francisco's case and the need for jail reforms to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support as we navigate this painful journey.
With gratitude and love,
