Bring David Shipp Home
The reason I have created this GoFundMe account is to raise $10,000 ($2,500 for research of case and $7,500 for attorney representation) in order to give David a chance to come home. He was unjustly sentenced to 40 years under the controversial 1994 crime law written by Joe Biden and signed into law by President Bill Clinton. Since I couldn’t afford a lawyer for him, the court appointed him one who did a poor job of representing him. So it was easy for them to give him the time.
In 2004, David, and his two co-defendants (all teenagers at the time) received sentences for robbery. He had misdemeanors in his history and deserved some time for his crime but nothing that would justify his getting 40 years in prison for robbery with no physical violence or weapon. David has used his time wisely by getting his GED, taking many classes to educate himself and volunteering for jobs that train him in skills he can use once released. David deserves a chance for redemption and to share his life with his loved ones and family.
