Briasia Smith was just 27 days old when her family faced an unimaginable tragedy. She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital because she had a high temperature and the hospital diagnosed her with the flu. Despite her parents concerns and Briasia refusing her bottle, a nurse force fed her, which led to milk coming out of her eyes. The hospital later ruled her death as natural and declined to perform an autopsy. Briasia's family believes there was medical negligence involved and is desperate for answers about what truly happened to their precious baby.
Because the hospital will not conduct an autopsy, the family is now seeking a private autopsy to understand the cause of Briasia's sudden passing. This unexpected loss has left the family not only heartbroken but also unprepared for the financial burden of a burial and the costs associated with a private autopsy. They are reaching out to the community for support during this incredibly difficult time.
Your donation will help cover the expenses for a private autopsy and provide Briasia with a proper farewell. The family is deeply grateful for any support you can offer, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser. Together, we can help them find the answers they need and honor Briasia's memory.
