My son, Artavyious Williams, was only 24 years old when his life was tragically cut short. He was serving a sentence at Pinckneyville Correctional Center in Illinois and had just a couple of years left before coming home to us. Artavyious was the most kind-hearted person in our family, always full of life and hope for the future. Late at night on March 6th, 2026, an incident occurred, and our family received the devastating news of his passing on March 7th, 2026. The only information we have is that he was found in a segregation cell, and his body was left lifeless on the prison floor for hours. The authorities claim they cannot release any information because it is under investigation, and the cause of death has not been given to us. Our family is heartbroken and searching for answers.
As his mother, I am trying to navigate this unimaginable loss while handling legal matters and funeral arrangements. We are working with lawyers and doing everything we can to make sure Artavyious gets justice. The funds raised will go directly toward legal fees, funeral expenses, and a private autopsy so we can understand what happened and give him the respectful farewell he deserves. Any support, no matter how small, will help us in our fight for answers and justice for Artavyious.
We are reaching out to our community and anyone who can help. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference for our family during this painful time. Thank you for standing with us and helping us honor Artavyious’s memory.
