My name is Michael Hayworth, President of Missouri Coon Hunters Federation. I am raising funds for our new members Larry & Hunter Grimes as their Treeing Walker Grand Night Champion Wipe Out Katie was brutally shot and killed last night (4/3/26). Katie was doing what she did best, hunting in Kirksville, MO at the UKC Tournament of Champions. After being shot her Garmin tracking collar was removed (not yet located) as well as her identification collar. Jack Bingham walked into the woods after the Garmin only showed a question mark. After being informed Larry & Hunter raced to the gruesome scene. A scene no hunter should ever have to see. At which time local law enforcement, state troopers, as well as the conservation department, were contacted. The police took a report and stated this is a civil issue. However, this matter will need to be investigated to find out who killed this champion. We all need to get behind an attorney for not only Mr. Grimes and his sons poor Katie and their loss but for all our rights as a whole.
