Help Jake and Family Overcome Legal and Financial Struggles
Donation protected
This is honestly the hardest thing I have ever done, and never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be setting up a fundraising page for myself. The immense amount of guilt and shame has held me back for a while, but I can't let it go on much longer.
As many of you know, last year Jake had an encounter with the police that was completely unwarranted and downright ridiculous. Because of this, he needed to hire a lawyer, a good lawyer, and that wiped out nearly all of our funds to cover us through the winter months. I work full-time too, but let's be real, I work at a public school and that barely scratches the surface of our monthly bills.
And to make my income worse, I sadly failed at being a business owner, and the state is taking their share each paycheck to cover my back taxes.
We are working to minimize things, but that does not stop the bills that have piled up. We also have had a few wonderful family members help us out, but we cannot seem to dig ourselves out of this hole.
Because of Jake's arrest and pending case, he has been concerned about what customers will see when pulling him up online, a valid concern that has ultimately led him to be a bit gun-shy about advertising for new work. He is doing his best, but it has taken a huge toll on him and how he operates. I will link the Fox9 article they did about his arrest if you have not seen it yet.
I never in my life imagined that at 45 years old I would be struggling as badly as I am today. This year has been harder than I could ever think it could be. My relationships have suffered greatly, including my relationship with Jake. He and I have separated but are doing our best to keep working together to save our little world from totally crashing and burning.
I lost my business, my best friend, and I am so scared I am going to lose my home as well. Any help is so appreciated and I will absolutely pay it forward when life evens out (fingers crossed).
