We're making a baby - Our IVF Journey

Donation protected
Hello! If you're reading this, thank you for reading our story. We (Eric and Jurdene) are starting our Invitro Fertilization (IVF) journey this year, and we need your support! We have been married for 6 years and have been trying to have a child for the past three years. In my 20s I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. This condition causes my ovaries to produce hormones that get in the way of conceiving naturally. In the last three years, we have been through several different methods of trying to conceive, including self-monitoring of ovulation to an unsuccessful IUI two years ago. The emotional toil that infertility puts on us has caused us to start and stop this process over and over throughout the years. Although I was blessed with the opportunity to be a bonus parent to Eric's three children, we hope to extend our family a little more and have a child together.

We have decided to move forward with working with a reproductive endocrinologist and specialty fertility clinic. In October, we have a consultation with Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM), at the recommendation of a close friend. This clinic is nationally known for helping families struggling with infertility have successful pregnancies. The average cost of treatment is $30,000, and most of it (98%) is not covered by insurance. Despite our own efforts to save, the reality is if we want to have biological children between us, we need help. We are reaching out to family and friends to donate to our IVF fund so we can focus on being present and healthy for our future baby. Please donate any amount you can and consider sharing this far and wide.

In case someone shared this with you, and you don’t know who we are:
During our time in Manhattan, Eric and I have dedicated our lives to helping the children and families in our community. Eric has always had a soft spot for kids. From driving a school bus to community policing, everyone who knows "Officer Coleman" in the schools loves to have him around Wamego. You can always find him giving out Hi-Fives to kindergartners or making connections with teens in the community. Jurdene is a mental health therapist who has worked with kids and families throughout her career and has served the community through the local school board. She has dedicated herself to improving the lives of those around her, supporting her closest friends as they grow their families.
