Juno's Journey: Surgery and Healing
Donation protected
It’s taken a lot for us to come to the decision to ask for everyone’s help. We’ve both never been ones to ask for help, but now is the time. We appreciate every donation or share!
Juno has ruptured her CCL in her back right leg, which for a human is like your ACL. It requires a pretty expensive surgery to fix it, and while it was never a question of if we would do it, we have begun thinking about how to make up for the cost of it. We are reaching out to all friends, family, or animal lovers for some help with the burden of the cost. We do have pet insurance, but unfortunately, because she had previous problems before coming to us, it’s considered “pre-existing” and won’t be covered. These funds will help cover her surgery, hospital stay, and aftercare. Her surgery date is March 31st.
A little about Juno! She is a 2-year-old terrier mix. We started fostering Juno from Kennebec Valley Humane Society on June 6th, 2024, where ironically enough, she was healing from her CCL surgery on her left leg. We believe her surrender to the humane society was due to the fact her past family couldn’t afford the surgery to fix it. She spent 10 weeks healing with us, and by the end of it, when it was time for her to go back, there was absolutely no way she was leaving our family. We became her forever home! Although if you asked anyone we knew, they all said they knew she wasn’t going anywhere from day one. Since then, she has become the absolute light of our lives. My soul dog. She enjoys spending all her time with her humans, snuggling up with a blanket, window watching, playing with toys (mostly tearing them apart), and eating absolutely any treat you give her.
Although this will be her second time undergoing this surgery, once with the humane society and now with us, she absolutely isn’t going anywhere this time around.
Sending love and thanks,
Kiley, Bao & Juno ♥️
