Hi friends,

As many of you know, Juno was diagnosed with Glaucoma in both eyes two years ago. Her adorable face has always been accentuated by her big beautiful brown eyes and as fate would have it, diabolically, the glaucoma has made them even bigger (increased eye fluid pressure), which causes pain and headaches in addition to loss of vision. The solution at this point, sadly, is the removal of both of her eyes.

Eye drops and a surgery in 2024 bought us some time and extended her vision for about a year and a half, which we've enjoyed as much as possible with road trips and camping. Unfortunately the relentlessness of elevated eye pressure has won out with time and Juno has been fully blind for about half a year now.

She's a champ and we've both learned to navigate this new sightless world with her nose and new queues. She bumps into things less and less and loves her sniffing search-for-the-treat games even more now.

The next step is to have her eyes removed surgically. This will improve her quality of life by removing a source of likely constant pain (she doesn't show it, but it's become apparent in recent months that something is off). Hoping she will have more energy and pep in her step afterwards and can continue to get better at being a blind dog - the best and most beautiful blind dog in the world of course.
