My Cousin Junor’s Hurricane Melissa Recovery

My dear cousin Junor has always been the heart of our family, and now he needs our help. During Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, Junor lost a significant portion of the roof on his home. While the cinderblock walls are still standing, his house is currently uninhabitable. To make matters worse, the family business—a beloved sports bar on the waterfront on High Street in Black River, founded by his late father—was almost completely destroyed by the storm. Only the front wall remains after the wind and storm surge swept through, leaving behind devastation and heartbreak.

Despite these losses, Junor has been out in his community volunteering to help others clean up and rebuild. That’s just the kind of person he is: generous, caring, and always ready to lend a hand. Our family is now working together to get him back into his home and to start the clean-up process for the business that has meant so much to us for decades.

We are raising funds to cover the materials and labor needed to repair Junor’s roof. If we are fortunate enough to raise more than needed for the house, any extra will go toward cleaning up the remains of the family business. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser—will make a world of difference. Thank you for your kindness and for helping us bring hope back to Junor and our family.
