Junior's Heart Journey
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Vanessa Schutz, Mallory Aylor’s sister (also Junior’s Aunt). I'm starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Junior Aylor & his family to help with the impending costs associated with the Journey that this little warrior is on to getting his new heart.
Brian William Aylor, Jr. (Junior) was born June 17, 2020.
This little guy was born with multiple cardiac defects such as:
-Hypoplastic right heart syndrome
-Tricuspid atresia
-Coarctation of his aorta
-Atrial septal defect (ASD)
-Ventricular septal defect (VSD)
-Transposition of his great arteries, etc (a few others)
We found out about these prenatally at 24 weeks.
He had his first open heart surgery at 14 days old at which time they repaired his Coarctation and put a pulmonary band on his pulmonary artery(so he would not over circulate his lungs). He recovered quicker than anyone could have ever predicted and we were home with our boy 7 days later.
Fast forward a month or so to August and he started to get bronchiolitis, with weeks passing and him getting better then worse, they get flown up to Riley via lifeline October 11th. Bacterial pneumonia among other things were just too much for his body so they got admitted to the cardiovascular ICU.
Two weeks later, Junior had another open heart surgery where he had a Damus-Kaye-stansel procedure and BT shunt. He recovered but kept having setbacks and complications one after another. Doctors couldn’t quite figure out what was going on.
His mitral valve regurgitation is very extensive and Junior had a THIRD open heart surgery Friday, December 4th and is currently recovering in the cardiovascular ICU at Riley Hospital. Junior has been put on the heart transplant list and will start this journey to recovery together with his army of family and friends.
The Aylor family has been overwhelmed by the support and prayers that they have received throughout this process.
If inclined and able, your donation is greatly appreciated by our family. If unable, please know your prayers and thoughts have and continue to carry our family through this journey.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and positive thoughts. It means the world to this beautiful family.
