Junior Worlds 2018

Hi! My name is Kodi Smart and I have been selected to play on the U20 National Men's Ultimate Frisbee team. At the age of 13, I saw a YouTube video about the sport of Ultimate Frisbee and it sparked my interest. At the time there was no youth Ultimate in Olympia, so for the first year I played with adults. This path led me to the Seattle youth scene where I tried out for and made a youth club national team. I was able to travel to Minnesota and my team would win the National Youth Championships! Over the next few years, I continued to play competitively and learned of the Junior Worlds Men’s team. I knew I wanted to play on this team.  My drive and commitment to improve myself for this fast-paced sport helped me achieve this goal.  I spent countless hours practicing the skills needed to be the best player I can be.  It's a dream come true to be on this roster with 23 other amazing athletes. As mentioned before, this sport afforded me opportunities such as playing in the National Youth Club Championships, making countless friends and giving back by teaching younger players the sport.  Although a dream come true, this opportunity comes with a financial responsibility that I am only partially able to support.
