Mersey Rowing Club, a rowing club based in the heart of Liverpool, has launched a Junior Support Fund to help young rowers from all backgrounds take part in training and competitions.
Many of our junior members are from lower-income households, and we want to make sure everyone has the chance to enjoy rowing, develop their skills, and compete.
Long-term, our plan is to find grants and external support to help make rowing accessible.
Until we do that though, we risk alienating current and new juniors from getting into the sport.
As such, we're setting up the Junior Support Fund where members can request support for:
- Travel to and from training sessions
- Race entry fees
- Essential rowing kit and equipment
- Other rowing-related expenses that might stop a junior from participating
We are asking for your support to grow this fund.
Every donation will go directly to helping juniors continue their rowing journey. To make your impact go further, the club is matching total funds up to £200.
With your help, we can make sure that financial barriers don’t stop our young athletes from achieving their potential.
