Junior needs a chance at life!!!

 

We have a family in Thunder Bay who needs help!

Junior is a ten year old boy who has sickle cell anemia and hopefully on Nov 17th will be able to have a bone marrow transplant in Toronto. This is his one chance at having a normal life. His youngest sibling is a match so both children will travel with their mom and if all goes well will need to be in Toronto for at least one month or more.

The family has four children. Mom is the main breadwinner and has arranged for someone to care for her two other children while she is in Toronto, but she will not be able to work while away and has a mortgage and other financial obligations. They have had to travel to Toronto several times, because the boy has had severe crisis with this illness, and the cost of travel has been very high. Each time mom has not been able to work while with her son in Toronto.

We are hoping that you will share her story with others, and that through the kindness of friends and strangers we will be able to raise funds to help this family with the cost of travel, and other expenses. This young boy is facing the challenge of a lifetime, he has not been able to go to school for over a year now and we are all praying that this transplant will be successful. We thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support. I am a family friend and i live here in Thunder Bay. I have known Junior since he was born 10 years ago. The funds will be used to pay off financial debts that have been accrued due to impromptu and last minute trips to the Sick Kids Hospital, augment lost income as Mum has not been able to work due to hospital runs brought by his multiple  crisis during the last few months which have also kept him out of school. I do not intend to withdraw the funds. The funds will be withdrawn by the mother.
