Junior Male World Boxing Championship Arizona USA

What is the fundraising for:

Khaled Bassal has been selected as 1 of 4 QLD Junior boxing athletes to attend a Junior Male National development camp, to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra, between 5-8th October. There are only 4 athletes from each state that have been selected.

Cost:

4x days at the AIS- $400

Airfares Brisbane-Canberra-Brisbane: $800

This camp is preparation for the up-and-coming Junior Male World Boxing Championships held in Arizona, USA on the 9th November.

Costs:

To be announced within days, however it is self-funded and will include airfares, accommodation, food. (We will update here as soon as we know.)

About Khaled:

Khaled is 1 of 6 siblings, raised and coached by his single mother out of their family boxing gym, Against The Ropes, Hervey Bay, QLD. Located 4 hours from Brisbane, the cost of travel, training, development camps and tournaments take their toll. To date Khaled has been self funded by his family, but funds have run out and to go beyond this point, Khaled needs your help.

Khaleds Accomplishments:

Khaled has won his last 15 straight wins out of 16 total fights. To date he has secured 2x Noive Titles, 2x NQLD titles, 1x Sunshine Coast Regional Championship, 3x Golden Gloves Championships, 1x QLD championship and is the current Australian Junior (15-16yrs) Male 66kg (super welterweight) Champion. Khaled has now been selected to represent Australia at the World Boxing Championships. An amazing feat at such a young age and with little experience!

Our plea to Australia:

We ask that Australia gets behind this next up and coming World Champion! His dream is to win gold at the Olympics, this is the next crucial step in turning this goal into a reality- Performing on a world stage! Khaled also has two siblings that are making their way through the ranks, all 3 are QLD Champions, and his younger sister also became Australian Champion this year also at only 11 years old! He also has a younger brother that is also looking to follow the family tradition. This is a determined and supportive family that is making noise within the boxing community. This family makes sure they give back more than the receive, all the kids donating their time to helping others within their community and passing down all they learn. Investing in Khaled is investing into your community (whether locally or nationally), and into the next generation of leaders and goals chasers. Khaled assures pay the kindness forward in both his time as a mentor, and financially as soon as he is able.
