Hello! You might or might not know me, I’m Junie. I’m a 35-year old trans woman and mother in Scotland.

I’ll get to the point: I need gender-affirming surgery and there’s no chance of getting it through the NHS for at least another four years (if they continue to allow us to have it at all), despite having been transitioning under their care for years already.

It’s expensive and I can’t afford it by myself. I wish I could, or that the NHS actually provided it, but unfortunately that’s not the case.

Anything you can give is so, so welcome, I hope you can understand how important this is to me, my mental health and my quality of life. Whether or not you can afford to give, sharing it more widely with a genuine message from yourself is a massive thing you can do. Please consider doing that!

It’s a shame to have to say this, but as you probably know the UK is becoming rapidly more hostile toward us dolls, and these changes would help me stay safer in the world we’re heading into. It’s not why I’m getting it, but it’s true. I’m trying very hard to become a doctor, and my safety in healthcare environments is more and more under threat too.

Some details, if you're interested in the costs: I’m raising £10,000 because this will cost around £18,000 and I have £8,000 after a lot of saving. Any amount that this fundraiser reaches beyond its goal goes toward meaning I don’t need to totally empty my savings and leaves me with a bit more financial security.
