* UPDATE * - 25th NOVEMBER, 2025

Hi all - Firstly, I send you greetings from the streets of Morocco, where I currently am; spending most of my time in close contact with many Sudanese, South Sudanese (and other) refugees and asylum seekers, including many women, children and families, who have recently fled the current war in Sudan, and are forced to live on the streets due to a lack of support.

I also wanted to thank everyone for their support so far, and provide a quick update about the Campaign, and an appeal for continued support and donations.

Thanks to the generosity of so many people around the world, we have raised more than €6,000 to date — far beyond the original goal — which has allowed us to expand the scope of our support and help many more people in need.

Today, our focus has shifted to helping women, children and families who have recently arrived in Morocco after fleeing the ongoing war in Sudan — and find themselves living on the streets, or in the most undesirable of living conditions.

If we reach the target of €10,000, this will ensure that we will be able to assist up to eight families and other refugees with shelter and support over the coming winter months, which are particularly challenging due to the rain and cold weather, as well as helping people with urgent medical and health issues.

As the war/genocide in Sudan worsens and intensifies, these sorts of independent projects have never been more essential, especially after the current administration in the USA cut all of their funding to the UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency) operations worldwide, which made up to 35% of all funding received.

So I am reaching out to ask for your support if you are able, to help make a very real and concrete difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Hi, my name is David Fedele.

I am an independent documentary filmmaker, originally from Australia, now spending most of my time making films exploring issues related to refugees, asylum seekers and migration between the African and European continents.

My latest film is called THIS JUNGO LIFE - an independent feature-length documentary made in collaboration with a group of young refugees and asylum seekers from Sudan and South Sudan, living and sleeping rough in the streets of Morocco; forced to flee violence and instability in Libya, and unable to return home due to ongoing war and conflict.

JUNGO HOUSE

As part of this project, I have stayed in very close contact with many of the young refugees from the film who are still in Morocco, plus new arrivals who have fled the current catastrophic war in Sudan.

For the past 9 months, I have been renting a small house in Morocco, which has enabled many of the refugees to get off the street, and sleep with a roof over their head. This is essential in providing safety and security, as life on the streets in Morocco can be extremely risky and dangerous.

We call this house: "JUNGO HOUSE", and it has been a very successful project so far.

The house is also being utilised as a "social/community house" - for other refugees to to bathe, rest, sleep, cook, eat, charge telephones, etc.

Private support and projects such as this have never been more important, due to the current USA Government stopping funding to the UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency), who are charged with the responsibility of assisting and supporting refugees.

A number of people have privately supported this project so far - And I am now wanting to share details of this project publicly, and invite people to assist/contribute financially - so that we can continue paying the rent for the next 12 months, to provide safety, security and shelter for these young people who would otherwise be forced to live on the streets.

100% of all money will go directly to the payment of rent (minus international transfer fees), and any additional money will be used to provide additional assistance to these refugees in a number of different ways.

Very often in my work, and especially following screenings of my films - people ask: "How can I/we help?"

Well - now there is a very concrete and tangible way to make a difference.

Any amount would be hugely appreciated, no matter how large or small.

And feel free to share this campaign with friends, family and colleagues, to help us reach our goal.
