Jungle Cat World needs your help!
We at Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park believe that all living creatures are significant and must be treated with value and respect. Through the Endangered Species Fund of Canada (ESFC), our registered charity, we are able to extend our care and concern for animals by funding in-situ wildlife conservation projects that work to protect wild species and spaces today... and for future generations. Since our inception in 1985, this has been our life’s work and we have been granted the unique opportunity and privilege to educate and inspire thousands of individuals through our programs offered.
Unfortunately, since our closure due to COVID-19, we can no longer depend on the revenue from our services and educational programs to cover the extensive costs associated with providing exceptional care for our animals.
We have many animals who are now in their senior years; a serval cat who is 22, a ring-lemur who is 24, and wolves as well as big cats who are in their teens now too. As these animals become older, they require medications that are incredibly important to their comfort and well-being, and often have many more unexpected vet visits as their health slowly declines from old age.

While this process is incredibly difficult for staff who have often been around them for the majority of their lives, we pride ourselves on continuing to be there for them until they are ready to cross the rainbow bridge and many of these animals have surpassed their wild counterparts life expectancy.
Outside of routine visits and vaccinations, we also have other vet visits and medications required associated with animals with lifetime ailments who need consistent treatment, like our fox being treated for epilepsy or our Wolf who has a skin condition.

While the park is closed, these conditions are still being treated, animals are still receiving veterinary consultations, and every creature is getting fed, watered, and cleaned by our dedicated team. Without revenue coming in, these expenses are beginning to be overwhelming as we do not know what the future holds and when we will be able to open.
We are approaching the month of May, usually when the warmer weather attracts people outdoors to walk around the park. Guests stay in our Bed & Breakfast to witness the entirely different demeanour of the animals after dark, schools book day trips, Girl Guides and Scout groups spend the night and learn about the many amazing animals that live at Jungle Cat World and howl with the wolves!
Our Moluccan Cockatoo, Sully is perplexed as to where the people are so that he may yell and sing at the new faces and get a variety of reactions including laughter. Staff interact and chat with him daily, but the confusion about the lack of new faces is prominent

The truth is, it is not only us that miss our guests, but the animals too.
Staff are diligently filling in the gaps; acting as a social outlet, source of comfort, feeding, watering, cleaning and providing enrichment as they always do.
What we are becoming acutely aware of however, is the financial strain this will soon cause as we lead into what is usually our busy season.
This is where we are asking for your help. If you are able, please donate. If you are cannot, please share this with your friends.
Many of you have generously purchased gifts from our Amazon Wish List, contributing valuable animal care items and equipment to ensure our shelves remain stocked! We can't thank you enough!
However, please consider making a donation to Jungle Cat World to help us get through these challenging times, until once again we can open up to the public.
This GoFundMe is set up specifically to cover the operational costs of Jungle Cat World while we are closed due to the pandemic.
Our registered charity is a long-standing support for in-situ initiatives and breeding programs facilitated by Jungle Cat World.
If you would like to make a donation larger than $25.00 and would prefer to receive a charitable tax receipt, please donate to the Endangered Species Fund of Canada ESFC (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/6669).
We thank you for your help today, so that the wildlife park can be there for you and your family in the near future!
