We want to tell you a little about why we are doing this go fund me page.

This story is about our wonderful friend and colleague, June Leechuy.

Until about six weeks ago, June was a long-time colleague working at a non-profit agency that supports people with developmental disabilities. She is valued, loved and appreciated by all. Her no-nonsense, direct approach made her a fierce advocate for the folks she supports, and her sense of fun and humour has shone through.

Over the last ten years, she has battled cancer at least two times, came out the other end, and has been in remission for about five years. June is a mom, sister, aunt, grandmother and legal guardian of her adult special needs son. About six weeks ago, she took a leave due to not feeling well. Unfortunately, two weeks ago, after experiencing worsening symptoms, June went to the hospital and was admitted. June's life forever changed as she received the devastating news that her illness was progressing.

It's never easy to ask, but we need your support to assist June and her family. June was the provider for her family. The last thing anyone with a serious illness needs to do is worry about financial issues. June's primary concern is ensuring her special needs son K-MAN, her daughter, and grandchildren can have food on the table and a roof over their heads. Any support will be appreciated so June can focus on what is most important in life, her family and friends. All money raised will go to June's family.
