June for Jimmy

Jim Formanek is the person that brings fruit into the office, so everyone can add some to their water, just to make it a little bit better—and that’s Jimmy, he makes EVERYTHING a little bit better. He spreads joy and love everywhere he goes, to every person he meets and to every creature he encounters. He is the person that will always have candy in his office for his human friends, but he will also have dog treats for his canine friends. There have been many dogs known to repeatedly escape their owner’s offices to run straight to Jimmy’s, where they greet their favorite person with a kiss and a hug and get their treat… and there have been a few humans known to do this as well, because going and spending time talking with Jimmy about toys, comics, and most importantly, Batman, is guaranteed to make you feel better. Everyone leaves Jimmy feeling better than when they came to him-- and that is his superpower. Sorry Batman with your brooding ways, but you don’t have anything on Jim Formanek and his incredible ability to make others feel happy, loved, and appreciated. To know Jimmy is to love him.

A few months ago, Jimmy discovered that he has a malignant tumor in his bile duct, causing a blockage that left him with a serious case of jaundice. Doctors went in to remove the tumor and found other spots of cancer on his abdominal wall. They decided to proceed with chemotherapy to try and shrink all that they could before they take next steps. Jimmy is currently going through chemo and there are still plans for more surgeries and radiation after chemo is complete. It isn’t known how many more procedures Jimmy will have to endure before this is all over, but what is known is that there are incredible expenses that come from having a serious medical issue like his. Jim has already had multiple bills from staying the hospital, surgeries and now chemo. Many people that know and love Jimmy have asked how they can help, and assisting him with his medical expenses is the best way to do so at this time.
