My mother, June recently transplanted back to Sacramento, California because her husband Glenn had suffered a stroke and needed to be near family and loved ones. She had just landed a great job opportunity working with children as a Day Care Facility Director, but unfortunately in February (shortly after being hired on) she began to experience serious symptoms such as memory loss, severe headaches, fatigue and nerve complications.
June's doctor recommended an MRI and we were heartbroken when they discovered 2 large brain tumors, diagnosed as Stage 4 Glioblastoma Cancer. One of the masses they determined could be reduced in size, and they performed brain surgery on March 2, 2020. The other tumor, is determined to be inoperable and too risky to remove. She will need to undergo extensive Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment to help fight the spread/growth of the remaining cancer cells.
After the surgery, she developed blood clots in her lungs and legs and was rushed to the emergency room. Due to her condition, operating to remove the clots would also be life threatening, so she's currently on blood thinners and being treated from home.
Glioblastoma Stage 4 is the most aggressive form of brain cancer and spreads rapidly. Unfortunately, even with surgery and Chemo, the Neurologists have given my mom 11-18 months life expectancy.
Needless to say, we are all in this for the long haul and do not plan on letting cancer win this fight.
Now, while she is under treatment, June will not be able to go back to work (the job she's so passionate about) in her condition, and we are asking for assistance with her medical expenses (surgery, hospital stays, medication, preventive treatment, etc.) and we're also seeking assistance for living expenses (rent, food, etc.)
We understand that these are very hard times for everyone and appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you- The Farren and The Holmes Family
