My name is Tressa, and on July 3rd, 2022 my cousin Jim Walter’s life was forever changed when his mother Lorie and our grandmother Carol were tragically murdered in Cleveland, Ohio. Jim was also a victim that day though he survived after undergoing a 5-hour emergency procedure. Jim spent three weeks in the MetroHealth ICU recovering and continues to require treatment indefinitely. Jim is expected to fully recover physically, but his emotional recovery will be an ongoing, long-term process.

Jim is a fighter and is determined to resume his everyday life as best as possible. He is coping with the trauma and devastating loss of family while trying to focus on his physical improvement. We hope to alleviate the financial burden of excessive medical bills, ongoing treatment, and personal expenses that will provide him the support he needs to recuperate and regain independence.
