Jumping Jack #21 - Jack Humphreys
Donation protected
Those that know Jack, know how much he loves BMX, he lives and breathes it. Jack has been riding BMX since he was 7 years old and has competed in competitions all over Australia. Jack had a bad crash at the Atherton BMX Club on Friday night. Unfortunately his injuries are quite serious and he was airlifted by helicopter to Townsville than put on a flight to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane.
Jack has two unstable fractured vertebrae in his neck. He has swelling and blood inside the spinal column resulting in no feeling in his right arm and hand. It is hoped that these will resolve, however there is a chance they wont be the same as before. He also has broken both bones in his left wrist which requires surgery.
They are an everyday family and as most of you would know Jack mows lawns to afford his new BMX bikes. We know they have a long journey ahead of them and we want to provide the best possible treatment and care for Jack in his recovery.
