Hey friends.
Thank you for look at my page. If you don't know me, I'm July. I'm a cisgender queer white woman currently living in Brooklyn, NY. I was a visual and performing artist, nightlife worker and enthusiast, and community activist interested in immigration law and reproductive justice.
After being diagnosed with COVID-19 in January 2022, I also was diagnosed with debilitating diseases that are the result of post-viral illness, known as "long covid". The first of which was POTS, which made me unable to stand upright for more than half an hour. I lost a job, a career, that I loved, and with it my community.
Further I was diagnosed with acute kidney injury from which I've racked up some medical bills attempting to treat. Even more, I was diagnosed with ME/CFS, aka Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Not a lot is known about this condition, but what I do know is that it's made it impossible for me to work in the fields I have skills in: art, nightlife, social justice, and the food/bev industry.
I am raising money for a few things. Firstly, I have to move to a place where rent is more affordable and transportation by car is feasible. The move itself will cost a few thousand dollars, plus the cost of getting household necessities when I arrive.
Secondly, I need a car. For the past 6 years I have biked/walked/taken public transit everywhere. My body can no longer tolerate this amount of exertion. I hope to get an inexpensive used car that I can take around to doctors appointments and the grocery store. I will also be supporting my family in care taking and need a way to reach them in the rural area.
Lastly, I need to pay off some part of my medical bills until I can find a way to get everything covered.
Thank you for reading this far! I tried to keep it short & simple. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has! I appreciate anything you can do, even a share would be immensely helpful.
Love,
July
