Before reading, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for taking a few minutes out of your day to click on this page.
Hi, my name is Julliette Holliday Stripling. I’m going into my final year studying as an undergraduate at Sarah Lawrence College. I am studying theatre, concentrating in acting, devising, choreographing, and playwriting as well as a focus in Africana studies. My first few years of attending SLC has given me the freedom to explore, discover, and develop my artistic and academic voice while forming relationships and collaborating with wonderful professors, faculty, artists, and friends.
I feel so incredibly blessed to have had my parents’ support throughout my college experience, but unfortunately due to COVID-19, which has left too many people in devastating financial situations, my family’s financial circumstances at present have made it almost impossible to afford the cost of paying for my senior year of college.
Earning my bachelor of liberal arts and sciences degree is a crucial step for my career and personal goals. Finishing my studies will prepare me for embarking on my journey to change the face of theatre as a black female theatre artist, and encourage me to continue to engage in conversations centered around race and produce stories on stage that amplify the voices of those too often silenced.
Everyone is struggling economically, including liberal arts colleges around the country. Despite letters I have sent detailing the economic burdens this time has put on the shoulders of my parents like mine, who are freelance artists, Sarah Lawrence is unable to provide me with the sufficient financial aid I need. Without additional help I will most likely not be able to return to Sarah Lawrence in the fall. These donations will help me pay a portion of the remaining balance I have for my tuition, room and board, and meal plan. Any and every donation would make a difference.
If I am able to return back to school, one way I’m hoping to give back to the SLC community is by advocating for more inclusive theatrical spaces and seasons, as well as seeking out opportunities to mentor incoming freshman students of color.

To my parents, thank you again for your endless love and support.
To my friends, thank you for your encouragement and reassurance.
And to you reading, thank you so much for considering to make a donation.

Special thanks to my friend Lulu for creating these amazing collages
