My grandson Julius Miller was transported to Iowa Cities Pediatric Intensive Care unit after he stopped breathing at home March 12th. He is the youngest and only boy of 5 children. Since arriving in Iowa City he has been diagnosed with HIB related pneumonia, RSV, and Coronovirus. After time at the hospital Julius also developed a blood clot blocking flow to both his kidney's, part of his liver and his Inferior Vena Cava the cause is still unknown. The treatment that Julius has had to receive is considered a research drug for pediatric use so will NOT be covered by their insurance. Along with bills for medications my daughter and her husband have not left his side, except to travel back and forth to school in shifts so they can maintain good standing. They could use help covering these extra expenses as they continue their stay away from home.
