My sweet 4-year-old son was recently diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer words no parent should ever have to hear. What started as small changes in his balance and speech quickly turned into every parent’s worst nightmare. After rushing him to the hospital, scans revealed a large brain tumor.
He underwent emergency brain surgery and is now being treated at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia CHOP.We’ve been told he will need at least six months of chemotherapy, meaning we’ll be living here for the next several months as he fights for his life.
Our world has completely stopped. Between hospital stays, travel, and caring for him around the clock, I’ve had to step away from work. To make things even more overwhelming, I am due with a new baby in May. What should be a joyful time preparing for a new life has turned into a heartbreaking and uncertain season of survival balancing pregnancy, hospital life, and my little boy’s treatment.
The costs of gas, food, temporary housing near CHOP, and just trying to keep our lives afloat are more than I can manage on my own. Through it all, my son continues to smile, even on the hardest days. His courage and light inspire everyone around him.
If you are able to donate, share, or even just send prayers, we would be forever grateful. Every little bit helps us stay together, provide for our family, and focus on what matters most helping my son beat this cancer and welcoming his new baby sibling into a world filled with love and hope.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, and supporting our family through this unimaginable journey.
