Julio Gomez; a family man & US hero

If you are receiving this, it’s because you either know Susan and Julio Gomez personally or you are part of a network of people who know them. For those of you who don’t know them personally, Julio is a former Navy SEAL and Susan is primarily a stay-at-home-mom of three beautiful boys: Kai (10), Max (8) and Kor (5). They are an amazing couple and are usually the first to help out in any crisis. 

Julio came to the USA as a young boy after leaving Cuba at the end of the 1960s. He always felt grateful to the USA for taking in his family and allowing them to have a new start. This instilled a passion in him to want to give back. After graduating high school he enrolled in the Navy and shortly thereafter started SEAL training. 

Three weeks ago Julio came down with the flu. He quickly became one of the unlucky few where the flu becomes life threatening.  He was admitted to the ICU and put into a medically induced coma with multiple organ failure. The doctors were not able to give Susan any type of prognosis in the first days, other than that he was, and still is, extremely critical.

It has been a shock to every one of us, but we all hope for a complete recovery. Julio is a natural-born fighter and we have faith in him! 

With Julio unable to work for the next several months, the family has no source of income, therefore financial help is the best thing we can offer Susan and her family right now.

This is a call for help. We all want to support Susan in any way possible, to allow her to stay strong, vibrant and positive for her family in these critical days to come. No amount is too small. Anything that is given with love is appreciated and accepted as such!
