Update on behalf of Gisela: “Yesterday, May 30th my mom passed so peacefully. My mom was such a strong individual and the last couple of days we felt her strength pass onto us as she was transitioning. We are grateful for all the love and support by many of you during this difficult time. What brings me peace is that my mom let us share our final words with her united as one, the strongest we have ever been. That’s all she wanted and waited for. May my mom rest in eternal peace and forever shine light on those impacted by her loving self.”

Dear Family and Friends, 

First off, we would like to commemorate Julieta for having beat uterine cancer once and declaring herself a cancer survivor on March 23, 2019. With so much grace and resilience, she continued to persevere and live her life as much as she could, while enjoying the presence of her family and close ones. 

Today we celebrate her life and gather around to give Maria Julieta Toledo the memorial she deserves to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. Julieta lived her life a fighter, a believer of God, and a woman with so much energy and will to live. She was a mother to Gisela and Raul, a grandmother to two beautiful girls, Sofia & Andrea, and most importantly, the most incredible friend and selfless human being one could ever meet. Losing her has been a significant loss for her family, The Shoe Family, friends and close ones, but mainly, her daughter, Gisela, who fought with her until the end of her battle with Leukemia. 

Today we would like to thank everyone who has supported Julieta and her journey through visits, prayers, and thoughtful messages of love and support. Her children, Gisela and Raul are extremely grateful and ask that you give them the space and time to grieve such a painful loss. 

Many of you have asked how you can help Julieta's children and family during this difficult time. This Go Fund Me is being set up to help lift the burden of the memorial, funeral, and medical expenses, as they attempt to mourn and grieve their loss. Querida Familia y Amigos, Primeramente, nos gustaría conmemorar a Julieta por haber vencido una vez el cáncer uterino y declararse sobreviviente de cáncer el 23 de marzo de 2019. Con tanta gracia y resiliencia, continuó perseverando y viviendo su vida, mientras disfrutaba de la presencia de su familia y allegados. 

Hoy celebramos su vida y nos reunimos para rendirle a María Julieta Toledo el memorial que se merece para honrar su memoria y darle el último adiós. Julieta vivió su vida como una luchadora, creyente de Dios y una mujer con mucha energía y ganas de vivir. Era madre de Gisela y Raul, abuela de dos niñas hermosas, Sofia y Andrea, y lo muy bello es que era una amiga increíble y el ser humano más humilde que alguien podría haber conocido. Perderla ha sido una pérdida enorme para su familia, la familia Shoe, amigos y allegados, pero principalmente, para su hija, Gisela, quien luchó con ella hasta el final de su batalla contra la leucemia. 

Nos gustaría agradecer a todos los que han apoyado a Julieta contra su batalla con el cancer a través de visitas, oraciones y mensajes reflexivos de apoyo y amor. Su familia está sumamente agradecida y pide que les den el espacio y tiempo para el duelo por tan dolorosa pérdida. Muchos de ustedes han preguntado cómo pueden ayudar a los hijos y familia de Julieta durante este momento difícil.
