I recently joined the advisory board of the Nick Finnegan Counseling Center , and in the month of February, I am #SharingTheLove to raise money for their Because Counseling Matters Annual fund .
As a school counselor who serves low-income students and families, I can tell you that it is very difficult finding mental health services that are both high quality AND affordable. Families who are uninsured or underinsured have very limited options and have to endure long waiting lists to receive services. This, combined with the stigma attached to mental health, often makes quality counseling out of reach for so many individuals in need.
NFCC is dedicated to addressing this very issue: making quality counseling and mental health resources affordable and accessible to our community. They accept insurance but also offer sliding-scale fees based on individual income. Generous and charitable donations also assure that clients are never turned away due to financial hardship. Last year, NFCC provided over 8,100 counseling sessions and served 735 clients. With your donation today, NFCC can expand their reach this year and continue supporting the health and wellbeing of our community.
