Hello, my name is Melissa and I am starting this GoFundMe to help my aunt Julie pay for her oldest son, Art's funeral and medical bills. He was unexpectedly admitted to the ICU last Thursday for what we thought was food poisoning. He wound up passing away on Tuesday. We were not expecting him to pass away, as he was only 55 years old. Art had devoted his life to working with children in the Westminster School District for the last 30 years, helping them become computer literate. He also worked with special education students. He has worked at Stacy Middle School, Ray M. Schmitt Elementary, and Warner Middle School. He always went above and beyond to help students and families communicate with the schools. He also volunteered in his spare time to help the Westminster High School wrestling team.

My aunt is 74 years old and in frail health. She has lost her two sons in the last year. Her younger son, Jesse, died of a heart attack, which was also unexpected, in March of 2024. The unexpected emergency ICU stay and the cost of burying Art is more than she can afford by herself. She has one surviving daughter, Minerva, who is helping as much as she can.
